Being Persuaded Beyond Doubt 1398

In Romans 8:38-39, Paul declares, “For I am persuaded beyond doubt that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities, nor things impending and threatening nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” If anyone could teach us about being persuaded beyond doubt, it was the Apostle Paul, who trusted God in the midst of the difficulties he faced in his life. How does a person become persuaded beyond doubt? In Romans 4, Paul revealed that he took Abraham, the father of faith, as his model. Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness. Abraham chose to believe God’s Word, instead of the surrounding circumstances, as his reality in life. Abraham hoped in God, and that hope caused him to prepare for something that was not yet revealed to his senses. He developed strong faith and did not consider or rely on his natural perception. “Abraham did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God” (Romans 4:20-22).
